Islam is a complete code of life that tells a person about the rights of his Lord, his self, and his society. In Islam, after Allah Almighty, the beings whose rights are most emphasized are parents. Obedience and service to parents have been declared a great act of worship. The Holy Quran repeatedly commands to treat parents kindly. Allah Almighty says that do not associate anyone with Me and treat your parents well.
Parents are a great blessing through whom a person comes into this world. A mother keeps her child in pain for nine months, and a father works day and night to raise his children. There is no substitute for their sacrifices. That is why Islam has counted disobedience to parents among the major sins.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that Allah's pleasure is in the pleasure of parents, and Allah's displeasure is in the displeasure of parents. This hadith is a clear proof that whoever obeys his parents actually pleases Allah Almighty. The prayer of parents is accepted very quickly in favor of their children.
The one who serves his parents gets respect in this world and also has a great reward in the hereafter. The children who are humble in front of their parents, speak in a soft tone, and obey their commands willingly, Allah Almighty blesses their sustenance and life.
It is even said in the Holy Quran that do not even say "Uff" to your parents. This shows that even a slight rudeness is disliked by Allah Almighty. Especially serving parents in old age is a great blessing.
In today's era, many people have started considering parents as a burden, which is extremely sad. We should value our parents, listen to them carefully, and make serving them the purpose of our lives.
In the end, it can be said that obedience to parents is the key to success. Whoever is obedient to his parents, Allah Almighty makes all his tasks easy. We should try to fulfill the rights of parents in every situation so that we can be successful in this world and the hereafter.
May Allah Almighty grant all of us the ability to obey our parents, Amen.
