*The Value of Halal Trade and Halal Sustenance in the Eyes of the Predecessors*

*Abu Wael (may Allah have mercy on him) said:*

"A Dirham earned through trade is more beloved to me than ten gifts."

*Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyab (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say:*
"The person who sits in the mosque, abandons his profession, and accepts whatever comes to him,
has exceeded the limits in begging."


Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyab (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to trade in the Mediterranean Sea,
including Talha bin Ubaidullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Saeed bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him).

"Should I trade in the sea?"
He said:
"Trade both on land and sea, and be independent of people."
