Another brick fell from the wall of life, and the ignorant are saying "Happy New Year."
2025 quietly took away another brick from the building of our lives, and we are exchanging greetings with smiling faces. Perhaps the greatest tragedy of time is that it doesn't make noise, doesn't announce itself, it just comes silently and takes what belongs to it, and what about humans? Humans turn this silent looting into a celebration with lights, fireworks, and slogans. Another chapter of life's book is about to close, another page is about to turn, but we don't even realize it. In the blink of an eye, time goes from one place to another. The sun rises, noon comes, evening fades, the darkness of night deepens, then the dawn appears. It seems as if time has stopped, although the reality is that time has not stopped, we have stopped, and time is trampling us and moving forward:
Who here knows the secret of existence?
Life is a series of evening and morning.
Seemingly, a month is a long time, but in reality, centuries and eras dissolve in the dust of commotion. Every moment is bringing us closer to annihilation. This very breath, which is apparently a symbol of life, is actually a testimony to the steps moving towards death. The lamps of birthdays, the celebrations of the new year, and the noise of congratulations are all knocks on the door of death, but man is intoxicated in the intoxication of heedlessness.
Man forgets in the intoxication of heedlessness
Otherwise, every breath is a message of annihilation.
Time transforms man from what to what. This very time raises someone from the dust to the skies, and this very brevity of moments throws man from the heights to the depths of decline. History is a witness that those who valued time left an impact spanning centuries, and those who considered it a game could not even find a place in the margins of history. Time is neither a friend nor an enemy, it is just a mirror that shows man his true face, and openly challenges, "If you use me meaninglessly, then when the next time comes, I will tear you to shreds, and if you engage me in actions and training, then I will give you such a fruit that will be a beacon for you until the Day of Judgment," and then every moment addresses man in this way and says:
Every passing moment gives this call
O despairing one, come here, what are you thinking?
I am time, I change the destiny of the world
I am the one who connects my times with my abilities.
For a believer, time is the most precious and rarest asset, but alas, today we are excelling in disrespecting this blessing. Days and nights are consumed by social media, neither the world is improved, nor the hereafter is built. Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I hate the idle person who is neither useful for the world nor for the hereafter." This sentence is a mirror for today's man, but instead of looking in the mirror, we want to break it. My dear, remember that time does not enslave anyone, time does not beg in front of anyone, "You do this," time does not give dependence, but discusses the flight of the moth. A moment that has passed never comes back, betrayal of time appears as a shameful tragedy for the future. Time is such a silent teacher whose eloquence and rhetoric are hidden from the world.
Now that we are stepping on the threshold of 2026, it is necessary to ask ourselves a serious question, will this new year be just a change of calendar, or an announcement of a change in the direction of our lives? If we waste the time, abilities, and resources that the Lord has given us, then it will be the worst injustice to ourselves, and many people have done it and are doing injustice to time, and then you all also observe it. Sometimes, teachers sitting in the classroom are seen saying loudly, "If only we had done this at that time, if only we had done that at that time," then they have nothing but despair. Today, I have a question for you gentlemen, tell me why Islam divided the prayers into five times? Why did the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) divide the five prayers into five different times? While there may be many other reasons for this, such as that we gentlemen read, there is also a reasonable reason that we should know the value of time, we should know the importance of time, the rest you are intelligent, you can understand yourself, and you gentlemen should ponder and reflect further, but I had read the history of a Jewish general, he wrote why the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) divided it into five times, it could also have been that the prayers of all five times could have been offered at one time, but no, he divided it into five times, then he concluded that it seems to demand the value of time from us, then he fixed time for his eating, drinking and every need, then he became that great philosopher of his time, who stood Azrael on a strong platform, the thing to think about is how many people unfamiliar with Islam are benefiting from Islam, but Muslims are lost in some intoxication. May Allah have mercy, and today mobile phones and the internet have become an essential part of our lives, complete detachment from them is neither possible nor desirable, but it is also an undeniable fact that these very means have become a major weapon of attack on our civilization, values, and faith. Now we have to decide whether we will remain mere spectators and victims, or enter the same field and become warriors of truth?
Religious scholars, teachers, and mentors have a heavy responsibility to guide the young generation towards the positive, constructive, and purposeful use of social media. Instead of wasting their lives in films, dramas, and frivolous pursuits, our new generation should connect with knowledge, ethics, health, and religion. If this fastest means of communication comes into our hands, it can be not only a killer of time, but also an effective means of invitation, reform, and intellectual struggle. Through it, the intellectual opposition of the enemies of Islam can also be done, the reformation of Muslims can also be done, and the message of Islam can also be conveyed to non-Muslims.
O Almighty Lord, make us appreciative of time, a true servant of the religion of Islam, a fearless preacher of truth, an embodiment of knowledge and action, and a true lover of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Awaken us from the sleep of heedlessness, and grant us a life of struggle, invitation, and service to the religion with sincerity, for the sake of Allah, and with perseverance, grant us the ability to serve Your religion until death. Ameen Ya Rabb Al-Alameen, by the grace of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
