*What do you know, how much peace there is in prayer?*

Prayer is such a great act of worship that by performing it, the heart of a believing servant attains immense peace, comfort, and tranquility. Prayer is the best way to strengthen the bond between a servant and Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. When a person is overwhelmed by the worries, sorrows, and difficulties of the world, prayer is the only act of worship that brings peace to their heart. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) declared prayer as the coolness of his eyes. Whenever he (peace be upon him) faced any trouble or matter, he would immediately turn to prayer because prayer is the comfort of hearts and the nourishment of the soul.
When Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, bestowed the great gift of prayer upon His beloved (peace be upon him) on the blessed night of Miraj (Ascension), the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were overjoyed because they now had the best means to ask from their Lord, to prostrate before Him, and to present their needs. Prayer is the act of worship in which a servant becomes closest to his Lord; in the state of prostration, whatever supplication a person makes to his Lord, Allah Almighty hears and accepts it.
But alas, today many Muslims neglect prayer, considering such a great act of worship as insignificant. Some people are so busy with worldly affairs day and night that they do not even bother to take out a few moments for prayer. Some people only offer the Friday or Eid prayers and neglect the rest, whereas on the Day of Judgment, the first question will be about prayer. If the prayer is correct, the rest of the deeds will also be rectified, and if the prayer is flawed, the rest of the deeds will also be in danger.
Believe me, the person who offers prayer with a sincere heart, sincerity, and regularity feels a different kind of peace. Prayer removes restlessness, fear, and anxiety from a person's heart. When a servant performs ablution and stands before Allah, recites the Quran, bows, and prostrates, blessings descend upon his heart. Prayer protects a person from sins, prevents indecency and evil deeds because Allah Almighty Himself has stated in the Holy Quran that indeed, prayer prevents indecency and evil deeds.
Prayer has countless religious and worldly benefits. A person who prays remains physically healthy because the acts of standing, bowing, prostrating, and sitting in prayer are very beneficial for the human body. Prayer instills discipline, purity, and punctuality in a person. The person who becomes accustomed to praying five times a day, his life is blessed. Allah Almighty expands his sustenance, gives peace to his heart, and protects him from many calamities and troubles.
What do you know what blessings are obtained by offering prayer, how many mercies descend, and how many calamities are averted. Prayer is the only act of worship that gives peace to hearts, protects a person from sins, and brings him closer to Allah Almighty. Those who are regular in prayer, their lives are different and more peaceful than others. We ourselves realized that since we became accustomed to prayer, Allah Almighty has always blessed us with His mercies, protected us from countless troubles and calamities, and bestowed a strange peace upon our hearts.
Try to be regular in prayer with a sincere heart, and then you will know how much peace, how much blessing, and how much comfort is hidden in prayer. No wealth in the world and no comfort can give the peace that is found in prostrating before Allah. The real success of a Muslim is in prayer, and the person who connects with prayer, Allah Almighty fills his life with light.
May Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, make us all regular in offering the five daily prayers, grant us the ability to understand the reality and importance of prayer, and grant us success in this world and the hereafter. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
