Religious Values and Current Educational Events

Readers, this is an important and sensitive issue that needs serious consideration. It is commonly observed these days that in schools, colleges, and some madrassas, grown-up girls, daughters older than 12-13 years, have programs showcased in front of a large audience, or they are made to sing or dance. This is against Sharia, and it will bring Allah's displeasure and remove blessings. This is not serving the religion. Girls are made to dance, and everyone watches as spectators, Allah forbid. Sometimes, the madrassa authorities say that the program was arranged at the request of the girls' parents. Therefore, it should be clearly understood that Sharia issues cannot be changed at the behest of parents, whether someone likes it or not. At least the administrators of religious madrassas should stop these scandalous programs. If the madrassas themselves do not follow the religion, then what expectation can one have from the public?

Once, I had the opportunity to attend a turban-tying ceremony in Hyderabad with my uncle. Overall, the program was, by the grace of Allah, excellent and pleasant, and most of its aspects were commendable. However, the show presented by the girls during the program was very unpleasant for us. This was also surprising for us because a prominent religious scholar from Hyderabad was also personally present at the event. Involuntarily, feelings of regret arose in my heart, and I was forced to think about what has happened to our society that we cannot even maintain the limits and values in such events. I pray to Allah Almighty to grant correct guidance to the organizers of such programs and to give us the ability to live our lives according to our religious and moral values. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
