Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, this district has a unique identity due to its greenery, sweet language, and sincere people.
Historical and Literary Background
The land of Araria has always nurtured knowledge and literature. This soil has given birth to great intellectuals and writers. The great and renowned Hindi writer, Phanishwar Nath Renu, belonged to the village 'Aurahi Hingna' in this district. The fragrance of rural life found in his writings is actually the fragrance of the soil of Araria. In Urdu literature too, the poets and essayists here have always proven their mettle.
Culture and Society
Araria's greatest virtue is its mutual brotherhood. The sounds of the Azan and the bells of temples are heard together in the atmosphere here. Whether it is Eid or Diwali, the people here know how to share happiness. The economy here is mostly dependent on agriculture, where farmers grow gold in the fields with their hard work. Rivers like Kosi and Panar have irrigated this land, although these rivers sometimes become a test in the form of floods.
