*Marital Silence: Problem and Solution*

What is marital silence?

Marital silence is a state in which communication or emotional expression between husband and wife stops.

One or both of them avoid talking about their daily affairs or problems.

This problem can lead the relationship towards coldness, and if not resolved in time, it can also lead to divorce.

 Causes of marital silence:

1. Daily pressures:
Communication may decrease due to the busyness and pressures of life.
Each person gets so caught up in their own worries that they don't feel the need to involve the other.

2. Lack of shared interests:
If husband and wife have different interests, there are fewer topics for conversation.

3. Constant criticism:
If one of the husband or wife constantly criticizes the other, the other person starts to avoid conversation.

4. Lack of understanding:
If one party does not try to understand the other or does not give importance to their words, the other prefers silence.

5. Weak communication skills:
Some people are unable to express their words or feelings properly, which makes communication difficult.

 Negative effects of marital silence:

1. Emotional distance:
Silence increases emotional distance, which makes the relationship cold and lifeless.

2. Feeling of loneliness:
Husband and wife can feel lonely even while living in the same house.

3. Stress and pressure:
Unexpressed emotions increase internal pressure, which can manifest as anger or arguments at any time.

 Ways to overcome marital silence:

1. Make time for daily conversation:
Set aside a time of day to talk about daily affairs and problems.

2. Listen to each other attentively:
Listen carefully to what the other person is saying, without interrupting. This attitude gives the other person a sense of respect.

3. Express emotions gently:
Avoid criticism or blaming. Present your thoughts and feelings with love and gentleness.

4. Find shared interests:
Do activities that both enjoy, such as walking or playing a game.

5. Seek help from experts:
If the problem is not being resolved, contact a marital counselor.

Marital silence is a serious problem, but it is not the end of the relationship.

It can be overcome with love, understanding, and cooperation.

The relationship can be made stronger and happier through mutual conversation and a positive attitude.
