Friendship: A Silent Wall Built Around the Heart
✒️ Mufti Muhammad Tasleemuddin Al-Mahmoodi
Friends are like the ribs of the chest. Neither their noise, nor their display; but without them, it becomes impossible for the heart to remain stable. They are those silent protectors who become shields against every sudden attack of life. When time strikes the heart with its cold attitudes, bitter sentences, and merciless decisions, then friends endure that strike from within, so that your heartbeat does not scatter.
Friends are that confidence that defeats loneliness even in a crowd. They do not convict you for your defeats, but rather clean the wounds and teach you the manner of standing up again. They know where silence is necessary and where a simple sentence saves a life. Friends are that mirror that shows the truth, but does not become glass that injures you with the truth.
When the nights become long and the light of hope begins to fade, then friends do not become lamps. They become the wind and save the lamp from going out. They smile after listening to your fear, absorb your tears within themselves, and make you realize that you are not alone. When the world makes your weaknesses its weapons, friends make them shields.
The perfection of friends' loyalty is that they ask for nothing in return. Neither praise, nor the noise of gratitude. Just your well-being is their greatest success. They stay behind in your happiness and stand furthest ahead in sorrow. This is the relationship that does not need blood, but is deeper than blood.
