The Prohibition of Interest (Riba) and its Harms
Interest is a very serious sin which has been strictly forbidden in the Sharia.
In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty has stated severe warnings against those who take and give interest.
Interest is not just a financial matter, but it is tantamount to waging war against Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him).
Interest apparently increases a person's wealth, but in reality, it eliminates blessings.
The one who takes interest is humiliated in this world and deserves severe punishment in the hereafter.
The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has cursed the one who takes interest, the one who gives it, the one who writes it, and the one who bears witness to it.
This is proof that interest is not permissible in any form.
Interest gives rise to oppression, injustice, and exploitation in society.
The poor become poorer and the rich become richer.
Interest removes mercy and compassion from the heart of a person.
Islam commands us to engage in lawful trade and earn legitimate income.
Giving a benevolent loan (Qarz-e-Hasna) is a great virtue and a cause for reward.
Allah Almighty opens the doors of sustenance for those who abandon interest.
Whoever abandons interest for the sake of Allah, Allah creates a better path for him.
We should completely avoid interest-based transactions.
Avoid bank interest, business interest, and all kinds of interest.
Also, inform your children about the prohibition of interest.
Contentment with lawful earnings is the real success.
May Allah Almighty protect us from the major sin of interest.
And grant us lawful, pure, and blessed sustenance.
Ameen, O Lord of the Worlds.
