Calligraphy, handwriting, decoration, beautifying writing, writing a word in several scripts (for example, Nastaliq script, Diwani script, Kufic script, and Ruq'ah script) that pleases the eyes and hearts of readers and viewers is a sign of refined taste and thought.
It has an independent history, which the writer, Labib, and refined temperament Hazrat Maulana Noor Alam Khaleel Ameeni (RA) mentioned in his book "Khat-e-Ruq'ah Kyun Aur Kaise Seekhen" (Why and How to Learn Ruq'ah Script).
In the past, when there were no computers or other such devices that people could easily write with, this work was done by tasteful people with their own hands. They showed the essence of artistry in buildings, carving stones and writing Quranic verses in Arabic script was their great skill. If you look at various ancient historical mosques, Qutub Minar, Taj Mahal and other palaces in India, you will know how hard and diligently they did this work, how they attached Quranic verses to buildings. Today they have passed away from the world, but the perfection of their art is alive, which makes people's eyes feel cool and they give them prayers.
Although computers have taken its place today, its importance is still not diminished in the eyes of connoisseurs. They still prefer the Naqsh Tarazi (designing) and Naqsh Nigari (engraving) written by the hands of a calligrapher.
They consider kissing the hand of a calligrapher as a blessing for themselves because through it they have raised the flag of Islam and left a special impact on people.
Just a few days ago, a gentleman who is an expert in calligraphy, his esteemed name is Gul Ayyubi, he had written only the esteemed name of Muhammad (PBUH) in 24 hundred styles of writing.
Similarly, my respected friend, brother Maulvi Owais Qarni Kishanganji, who has a refined taste, subtle thought, and the passion of a Faqir, is working hard in this regard and is progressing day by day.
He wrote this out of love for me.
I am grateful to him.
May Allah Almighty bless him with more progress, Amen.
