Respected readers, it is with great sorrow, grief, anguish, and shock that this tragic news is being conveyed that the beloved of scholars and the righteous, Hazrat Maulana Pir Faqeer Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi Sahib Rahmatullahi Alaih, has departed from this mortal world to the eternal abode. As soon as this news echoed in my ears, it felt as if someone had struck a painful blow to the depths of my heart. Words failed me, breaths became heavy, and the ground slipped from under my feet. Allahu Akbar! It was the moment when Maulana Khizr Masoodi Kashmiri Sahib (Sheikh al-Hadith, Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband) announced the demise of Hazrat Maulana Pir Faqeer Sahib in the peaceful atmosphere of the seminar. A blow struck my heart that cannot be described. Tears flowed uncontrollably from my eyes, and it became impossible to control myself. This shock was not just news for me, but an announcement of the extinguishing of a lamp. And then the scene when Hazrat Maulana Salman Bijnauri Sahib, Ustad Hadith Darul Uloom Deoband, suddenly started weeping uncontrollably on the stage of the seminar. The audience was surprised as to what was the matter? But as soon as the death of Hazrat Maulana Pir Faqeer Sahib was announced, the whole gathering was stunned. Only one voice echoed everywhere: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un."
Hazrat Maulana Pir Faqeer Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi Sahib was no ordinary personality. He was among the scholars who are born in centuries. Knowledge, action, sincerity, asceticism, piety, and concern for the Ummah were the beauty of his personality. He was the author of countless scholarly and spiritual books from which countless people like us have received light, guidance, and polished our hearts and minds. Hazrat's life was entirely an invitation, and his existence was itself a school. The sudden separation of such a scholar, mentor, and person of spiritual attainment is an indescribable shock for us. It feels as if a shining star of knowledge has suddenly disappeared from the horizon. Today my heart is asking that question: Who will give those affectionate prayers now? Who will say those advisory sentences? Who will distribute that scholarly and spiritual wealth?
We humbly pray to Allah Almighty that He grant Hazrat Maulana Pir Faqeer Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi Sahib Rahmatullahi Alaih the highest position in Jannat al-Firdous, grant him high ranks in A'laa 'Illiyin, forgive his mistakes, make his knowledge and actions a Sadaqah Jariyah for him, and grant the Ummah a good replacement for him, and grant us the ability to follow in his footsteps.
Aameen, Thumma Aameen, Ya Rabb al-'Aalameen.
