*Madaris Teachers and Social Media*

Madaris are ancient centers of Islamic education and training, where students are taught the Quran, Hadith, jurisprudence, and Islamic ethics. The role of female teachers (Muallimat) is very important, as they provide students not only with academic but also with moral and social training. In today's era, social media has become an essential part of life, and it is also affecting the education system of Madaris. Through the correct use of social media, teachers can increase the reach of education, but careless use can also pose risks.

In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty says:

اِقْرَاْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِیْ خَلَقَۚ

 (Surah Al-Alaq: 1)

Translation Kanzul Iman: Read in the name of your Lord who created

From this verse, it is clearly proven that acquiring knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim, and this obligation can also be fulfilled through modern means.

Benefits of Social Media

1. Access to Educational Material

Social media provides teachers with the opportunity to easily convey the Quran and Hadith, prayers, jurisprudential issues, and moral teachings to students. Students from remote areas can also benefit from these resources.

In a Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says:

طلب العلم فريضة على كل مسلم (المشکوٰۃ:34)

That is, acquiring knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim.

2. Communication and Consultation

Effective communication is maintained between parents, students, and teachers through social media. This solves students' problems in a timely manner and improves the quality of education.

3. Transmission of Modern Religious Content

Religious education can be made more interesting and understandable through videos, lectures, and articles, which can reach students even outside the classroom.

Challenges of Social Media

1. Inappropriate Content

Non-Islamic or immoral content is also present on social media, which can be harmful to young people.

Allah Almighty says:

 وَ لَا تُلْقُوْا بِاَیْدِیْكُمْ اِلَى التَّهْلُكَة ( Al-Baqarah: 195)

Translation Kanzul Iman: And do not cast yourselves into destruction with your own hands.

2. Waste of Time

Spending too much time on social media can hinder education and training.

3. Protection of Personal Information:

Unsafe sharing of personal information on social media is harmful not only socially but also religiously.

Guidance through Islamic Training

1. Moderation and Consideration of Limits

It is necessary to maintain moderation in the use of social media so that it fulfills its educational and training purpose.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

اِذَا حَكَمْتُمْ بَیْنَ النَّاسِ اَنْ تَحْكُمُوْا بِالْعَدْلِؕ(An-Nisa: 58)

Translation Kanzul Iman: And that when you judge between people, judge with justice.

Here, justice also includes the aspect of moderation.

2. Authenticity and Verification of Knowledge:

Teachers should ensure that any material they share on social media is authentic and correct.

3. Guidance for Parents and Students:

Guidance from parents and elders is essential in the use of social media so that students are not deprived of religious and moral training.

Suggestions for Effective and Safe Use

Use social media only for educational and training purposes.

Observe professional and ethical boundaries.

Do not share personal information and private photos.

Prioritize quality and authentic religious content.

Maintain a balance between online education and offline training and practical guidance.

The teachers of Madaris are an important means of spreading the light of knowledge and training in society. Social media can be a powerful tool, provided it is used within Sharia limits, ethics, and educational purposes. In the light of the Quran and Hadith, teachers can not only impart religious education but also create moral and social awareness among students, so it is necessary that the use of social media is balanced, safe, and educationally effective.
