Sharif is not merely a rosary of words, but it is the practical interpretation of the Quranic verse in which the Lord of the Universe declared that indeed Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), O you who believe! Send blessings and peace upon him too... This is the place where a person realizes how great an honor it is to be included in the remembrance in which the Creator of the Universe and the angels participate... Durood is the breeze of mercy that gives light to the heart and gives freshness to the soul... It is mentioned in the hadith that whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah sends down ten mercies upon him, as if it is the capital that is uttered from the tongue and reaches the Throne and, returning, transforms the deeds of the servant into light... Durood is the key to the acceptance of prayer because the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that when you pray, start and end with Durood so that the light of Durood becomes a medium between your needs and guarantees acceptance.
History is witness that the languages that adopted Durood in abundance, their hearts remained alive, and those who abandoned it were drowned in harshness and cruelty. The lives of saints and righteous people are fragrant with the fragrance of Durood... Someone should see the nights of worship of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, how the repetition of Durood was on the tongue, someone should read the words of Imam Shafi'i that he had made Durood the center of his practice.
This is the reason why Durood Sharif is considered a symbol of Ishq-e-Mustafa because when the heart is dominated by love, the tongue is lost in the pleasure of Durood. The love of Ahl al-Bayt is also inherent in this Durood because Allah has said to send blessings upon the Prophet and his family. This is such a remembrance that weaves the love of the Messenger and the love of the Ahl al-Bayt into one garland... Durood is not only a means of salvation in the Hereafter but also a cure for worldly sorrows. There are many incidents that someone started reciting Durood in distress and Allah opened the doors of victories, someone adopted abundance of Durood in illness and was blessed with healing, someone drowned in debt made Durood a routine, then difficulties were removed... All this is clear on the pages of history that Durood has supported the people of faith at every turn, the real cure for the decline and intellectual decline of the Ummah is also Durood because when the hearts are filled with the love of the Messenger of Allah, neither the magic of Western civilization will affect nor the darkness of intellectual apostasy will prevail.
The glimpse of Durood in poetry and literature is like the light of the moon in the moonlight, in Sufi poetry and Naat poetry, Durood is the lamp that gives warmth to the emotions... Modern man whose soul is stuck in the dust of materialism, Durood is the prescription for him that can turn the desolation inside into the fragrance of paradise... This remembrance removes the burden of the world from the screen of the heart and opens the door to closeness to Mustafa... On the Day of Judgment, this Durood will be the support of salvation, the source of light on the Pul-e-Sirat, the passport to take you to the court of Shafa'at-e-Kubra...
So Durood is actually that cosmic word in which Allah, angels, prophets, saints, lovers of the Messenger are all involved and when a servant joins this caravan, his name is also written in the register of mercy, therefore, the Ummah that wants its present to be adorned and its future to be bright, should make Durood the recitation of its tongue and the song of its heart... This is the remembrance that makes the world a garden and the hereafter a paradise...
