✍🏻 Abu Khalid Qasmi
Sajdah (prostration) is actually the pinnacle of servitude and humility. It is that blessed state in which a servant is closest to his Lord. The forehead touching the ground, the heart bowing before the Lord, and the soul connecting with Allah Almighty with humility and submission—all of this together makes Sajdah the most effective and purest path to closeness to Allah. There is a Prophetic Hadith ﷺ: A servant is closest to his Lord only in the state of prostration.
That is why the saints and righteous people always desire that the last moment of their life be spent in this pinnacle of servitude. To die in prostration is certainly the ultimate good fortune and the highest sign of a good ending. This is evidence that the servant spent his entire life in worship, obedience, and humility, and the Lord granted him the good fortune to remain close to His court even in the moment of death.
Blessed are those whom the Gracious Lord has granted death in prostration—these are the blessed souls who, after spending their entire lives in prostration, chose their final journey in the same state. The life of such people is also a model for the believers, and their death is a source of admonition and happiness.
The names of some of these great, fortunate scholars and people of knowledge are presented below, whom Allah Almighty has bestowed with the great blessing of death in the state of prostration:
