“Action creates life: heaven and hell” (“life becomes heaven and hell through action”) depends upon our deeds

Every living being who is born in the world must take some action. Without deeds, we cannot imagine any living being. Because Allah has sent every living thing to be dynamic and active. One which has no activity or movement cannot be called a living being. Eating, drinking, sleeping, resting, walking, talking, listening, feeling, or thinking—all these are activities and movements. Therefore, activities and movements are known as the basic necessity for every living being.

Thus, every living being in the world is related to movements and deeds. But humans are social beings and are the best of creation, so they have obtained the most important level (rank) for their deeds and movements. We do not find any living being who does not perform any activity. There are two types of deeds. The good deeds of human beings are constructive, praiseworthy, and exemplary, while bad deeds are deplorable and destructive. Good deeds are related to humanity, and bad deeds are related to Satanism. Deeds affect not only individuals but also the whole human race and society collectively. The effect of deeds transcends the boundaries of space and time.

By good deeds, a person’s world and hereafter are also blessed. Whereas bad deeds cause destruction in this world and the next. Therefore, a human should be attracted towards good deeds so that he can live in peace and happiness and also be entitled to God’s reward and honour in the hereafter. Bad deeds cause humiliation in this world and will be the cause of God’s wrath on the Day of Judgment. So Allama Iqbal explained it like this:

Amal se zindagi banti h Jannat bhi Jahannam bhi

Ye khaki apni fitrat me na noori hai na nari hai.
