We often search for peace in people, but we can never truly find it there. Because Allah knows what is hidden inside our hearts. He is our Creator — He made us, and He understands us better than we understand ourselves. So whenever He tells us something, there is always deep wisdom behind it.
In real life, we can clearly see this. Sometimes, people are all around us, yet we still feel alone. We smile, we talk, we sit among others — but inside, our heart feels empty. This shows that the presence of people does not guarantee peace.
When we start caring for someone, we slowly become emotionally attached. Their attention makes us happy, and their ignorance hurts us. We begin to expect love, care, and importance from them. But when those expectations are not fulfilled, it creates a deep pain within us. Even when we try to control our emotions, it is not easy.
At such moments, we begin to realize that people are not constant. Their feelings change, their behavior changes, and sometimes they leave without even realizing how much pain they caused. This is why depending on people for peace often leaves us feeling empty.
Allah tells us that whoever turns away from His remembrance will live a life of hardship and restlessness. And the Prophet ﷺ taught us that Allah is with the one who remembers Him. So when we turn towards Allah, we are never truly alone — even if the whole world leaves us.
Then, from the depth of the heart, a realization arises: if hearts truly find peace in the remembrance of Allah, then how can a heart find real peace anywhere else? How can something temporary give the peace that only the Eternal can give?
And at that moment, this ayah is not just remembered — it is felt:
“Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.” (Qur’an 13:28)
