*A Bitter Truth for Reclusive Scholars and a Neglectful Nation*

*An Address to Those Scholars Who Consider Themselves Beyond Politics*
O Heirs of the Pulpit and the Mihrab! Your job was not only to perform marriages and carry out funerals; your silence has handed over the assemblies to the irreligious, thieves, and looters. If you stepped back saying that politics is dirty, then why did you allow this filth to reach the doors of the mosques? You betrayed the trust of knowledge; you read books, but forgot the Sunnah of Hijrah and Jihad of the one who brought the book. Your insensitivity has orphaned the Ummah. You still keep the cells of the monasteries warm, but the fate of the nation has turned cold. Your sermons echo in the mosques, but no one listens to your voice in the parliament. You gave lessons on ethics, but did not dare to challenge the system that destroys morality. You protected the religion, but did not show the courage to enforce the religion. You stood on the Mihrab and showed the Ummah the straight path, but withdrew from the responsibility of bringing the state to the straight path.
Don't you know that when the Imam is silent, the wicked rulers speak? When the scholar steps back, the ignorant step forward? Your isolation has become the biggest wound for the Ummah, a wound in which politicians sprinkle the salt of their lust every day. Sometimes this nation is beaten at the gates of Delhi, but you are silent. Sometimes their mosques and madrasas are snatched away from them, you are silent. How many poor children were adorned with knowledge and skills, their lives were ruined. Sometimes Sharjeel Imam, who studies at a university, is put behind bars, you are silent. What is the meaning of your Imamate? Don't you see that when you say Allahu Akbar once, the whole nation stands in one place, no one has the power or courage to leave the congregation without a valid Sharia excuse. The nation that kneels at your one call, sometimes puts its head on the ground, sometimes sits with its head raised, but is not allowed to leave the prayer. The nation that can do so much at your one signal, then why didn't you create Mujahideen within this nation? Why did you only preach the message of peace and security from the Quran and Hadith to this nation? Why didn't you tell them that Islam has also commanded Jihad? Why didn't you tell them that Islam has also commanded to cut off heads? Why didn't you tell them that Islam has also commanded to risk your life when Islam is in danger? Why? Didn't the Quran and Hadith tell you all these lessons? Of course, they told everything, but you are the Imam who says yes to whatever Chaudhry Sahib says. You are not the leader of the nation, but the Imam who bakes his own bread. You are not a honorable Imam, you do not have the pain of religion. If you had the pain of religion, then, for God's sake, this nation would not have come to the brink where it stands today. This nation has been orphaned from the Islam that was given by the Prophet of Allah. You are the Imam who praises every wrong person on the prayer mat because you think that the nation gives you bread. You are not Mutawakkil Ala Allah yourself, then how can you explain to the nation? You have only taken the contract from the cell to the Mihrab and then from the Mihrab to the cell. For God's sake, have mercy on this nation. If you want to restore its lost dignity, our Imams must come to the field. They have to lead the nation properly. They have to understand the pain of Islam. They have to tell the nation those pages of history from which Mujahideen are made, from which the nation can be saved. For God's sake, you have the power and courage that you can bring this nation to the heights of success, but the condition is that you have to explain Islam the same way that Allah and His Messenger have given it. And if you explain religion according to the Chaudhry, the seat, the rich, and the poor, then this nation is going to come to an even worse edge. And if you are still convinced that the nation does not listen to us, then the question is, why does the nation perform Qiyam, Qirat, Ruku, Sajud, and all the pillars of prayer at the command of the Imam whom the nation does not listen to? If it does, then why can't it listen to you? The only reason for this is that you have not explained to the nation the Islam that should have been explained, but rather the Islam of the Chaudhry and the seat holder.
*An Address to the Nation That Says, "What Business Do Scholars Have in Politics?"*
I feel like mourning your intellects. You give the future of your children into the hands of those who do not fear Allah, and you stop those from politics who have the fear of the Hereafter in their hearts? You decide for yourself, will the person who does not remember the grave improve your world? Will the one who does not fear the wrath of the Creator protect the rights of your generations? Remember, as long as the voice of Qal Allah wa Qal al-Rasul ﷺ does not echo in the parliament, there will be nothing but humiliation in your destiny. It is the Sunnah of Allah that He imposes the ignorant and the oppressors on the nation that snatches its guidance from the honest and hands it over to the world-worshippers. Your negligence is writing the destruction of your future generations. Those whom you voted for as your protectors are selling your honor, your dignity, your resources, and your freedom. You shout slogans, take out processions, make pleas, but have you ever thought that if the heir of the pulpit was in the assembly, the laws would be different today, the system would be different, the society would be different. But if your Imam stands for even a small election, your stomach starts to hurt. You say, "What business does the Imam have in contesting elections?" O shameless nation, understand that all the infidels cannot even match the politics that a scholar can do because he has two helps: one is his external help, which is difficult to compete with, and the other is his internal power, which the entire world of disbelief cannot compete with. If you don't remember, then look at Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq, Hazrat Umar Farooq, Hazrat Uthman, and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with them all), and nearby Hazrat Sultan Hamiduddin Sultan Nasiruddin Sultan Salahuddin, and to see more closely, then look at a lion of a nearby country who is called *Khadim Hussain Rizvi (may Allah have mercy on him)*, who was disabled from the legs and sat on a wheelchair, and the entire world of disbelief used to listen to his one speech with bowed heads. The evil president of America used to call him an extremist. This is the leadership whose brief sermon used to shake the entire world of disbelief, and the amazing thing is that he was sitting on a wheelchair.
*A Sincere Petition to the Esteemed Scholars* O Great Commanders of the Muslim Ummah, you are the heirs of the prophets, and the job of the heir is not only to protect the inheritance but also to enforce it. Today, when politics has become synonymous with lies and corruption, it is your responsibility to color it in the color of Muhammadi politics ﷺ. You should come into politics so that politics can get sanctity and humanity can get rid of the oppressors. Your becoming a politician is not the lust for power, but the support of religion. Instead of reciting the lament of the deteriorating condition of the nation, pick up the pen to write the destiny of this nation. The cries of the Ummah are falling in the ears. The screams of innocent children reach the courts, but the government does not care. If you also step back at such a time, then remember that tomorrow when you are asked in the court of Allah why the Ummah was allowed to be oppressed, silence will not be a proof, silence will become a crime.
We are afraid of the lowest human being of this pig-eating nation who cannot even define his own religion. Surely, it is a weakness of faith to be afraid of that bald man who has no value. That vile man who snatched the hijab from every daughter of Islam, whose own sister's daughter, being a Muslim woman, feels proud of herself. If the religion of Islam is really a true religion and you are surely its followers, then I have the same questions from the entire Islamic world that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Holy Prophet ﷺ. If not, then there is a place to think about which Kalima we have read, on which Islam we are, is this really the Islam on which we are or something else, *and then those questions are from the heirs of Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi that the Jewish girl asked, O Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi, is this the Kalima that Muhammad ﷺ taught you, is this the religion for which the companions of the Prophet of Islam sacrificed their lives, is this the religion of Islam that was led by Abu Bakr, Umar Farooq, Uthman, and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them all) after Muhammad ﷺ?*
Remember, as long as politics remains unrestrained, humanity will continue to suffer. As long as the heir of the pulpit and the Mihrab does not sit in the parliament, the spirit of Islam cannot be created in legislation. Today, politicians make laws and scholars comment on those laws. The time has come to change this order. Therefore, the presence of scholars in politics is not an option, but the most important duty of the time. O you who consider politics a forbidden tree, take heed, otherwise only prayer mats will remain and the system of disbelief will trade the faith of your generations, then don't say that we did not warn you.
Allama Iqbal gave a lesson to this nation in a very brief and clear manner, he said:
*Whether it is the glory of kingship or the spectacle of democracy*
*If religion is separated from politics, then only Genghisism remains.*
