We are drifting away from the Sunnah, and we have never shed tears over this. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Two drops are very pleasing to Allah: one is the drop of blood shed in the path of Allah to elevate His religion, and the other is the drop that falls from the eye out of fear of Allah." If a tear falls from the eye, it has great value in the sight of Allah. So, the main point is that whatever the circumstances and calamities are, it is stated in this verse of Surah Al-An'am that it is to turn people towards Allah.
