Sheikh Ali al-Tantawi (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
If we gather ten of the biggest meteorology experts, they debate and argue with each other, and then decide that the weather is clear today, but it is raining at that moment, then what is the value of their debate and argument? Experience is the greatest proof.
Our ancestors did an experiment, and we ourselves did an experiment.
The ancestors experimented with working for Allah and striving to elevate the word of Allah, so they ruled over a third of the earth in thirty years, and overthrew Khosrau and Caesar at a time when the status of Persia and Rome was like that of America and Russia today.
And our experience is that we experimented with progressivism, socialism, and distancing ourselves from the commandments of religion, so we were deprived of our first Qibla and the place of ascension of our Prophet ﷺ.
And who defeated us?
We were defeated by the most vile nation, the Jews.
