Yesterday, March 22nd, Sunday, a very sad and heart-wrenching incident came to light, which greatly disturbed the heart and shook the body. This incident occurred around 2:30 PM when two young girls were fighting over something. People present at the scene, out of human sympathy, tried to separate them, including a mother and her daughter. These two intervened and ended the quarrel between the girls, and the matter seemingly ended there. However, shortly after, the situation suddenly took a dangerous turn. A girl named Niha, as reported, her parents, uncles, and brothers suddenly attacked the mother and daughter. Various weapons were used in this attack, resulting in severe injuries to the mother's hand, requiring four stitches. When the woman's son saw this scene and merely asked why they were being treated this way, the attackers also brutally attacked him. During this, sticks and sharp weapons were used, causing a deep head injury to the young man, requiring seven stitches. Subsequently, the matter reached the nearby police station, where the police took notice of the incident and initiated legal proceedings.
Hearing this incident, the heart became extremely saddened and frightened because all this happened in my own neighborhood. The question repeatedly comes to mind: what is the real reason for such violent incidents? Undoubtedly, a major reason for this is ignorance and intolerance, where people have neither a correct understanding of religion nor regard for social values. This situation is very alarming that such a severe reaction is coming to the fore on minor quarrels, and those who come forward with the intention of making peace also become victims of oppression. Has saving someone now become a crime? Has society become so insensitive that the value of human life is no longer there?
This is not just one incident, but many such incidents are heard daily, which reflect the declining moral state of our society. Some individuals further fuel such violence, which is an extremely sad and reprehensible attitude.
I pray to Allah Almighty to grant guidance, give the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, and promote peace, tolerance, and brotherhood in our society. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
