From childhood, I loved reading the Quran with translation, especially Surah Yusuf. It was a story that whenever there was some time left before the Quran class started, I would first perform ablution and come to the class early because I would try to recite Surah Yusuf once before the teacher arrived. I read Surah Yusuf so much that I memorized the complete translation of Surah Yusuf in my childhood.

I was a student of second grade when my respected teacher asked me why I recited Surah Yusuf so much. I could only say that I liked this Surah very much.

I loved the patience of Yusuf (peace be upon him). His own people betrayed him, and he remained patient. His own people showed indifference, and he remained patient. His own people abandoned him, and he remained patient. Zulekha accused him, and he remained patient. He was put in jail, and he remained patient. His companion forgot to recommend him to the king, and he did not complain; he remained patient. He held onto patience in every situation.

When his brothers met him again, did he abandon them? Did he break off his relationship with them? Did he push his brothers out of Egypt? Did he take revenge on them? No, but he remained patient.

Now let's examine ourselves, what do we do? Someone said something bad to me, and I will also say something bad to them. He left me, and I will also leave him. My relative broke off the relationship with me, so why should I go to make peace? It was their fault. The friend didn't pick up the phone on time, so anger on that too. If a disease occurs, then also complain that what mistake did I make that I got this disease? If Allah puts you in trial, then also complain, why me?

Why, what are you that you will not get sick? You will not be tested?

We have stopped being patient. In every matter of ours, there is only complaint on our tongue.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran!

"Do people think that they will be left alone because they say, "We have believed," and will not be tested?"

Whenever you read the Quran, read it with translation, even if it is only one verse, reflect on it and try to bring it into your life.

Which is your favorite Surah?
