Un ki zindagi Makka ke ek ilmi gharane se shuru hui aur Dehli ki khaak mein abdi neend so gai magar un ke alfaaz aaj bhi zinda hain. Un ki Tarjuman ul Quran aaj bhi ahl-e-danish ko Quran ke zinda paigham se roshnas karati hai, un ki tehreerein aaj bhi batati hain ke Islam koi maazi ka qissa nahi balkay haal aur mustaqbil ka zameer hai..........

 Maulana Azad ne jab apni jawani ke dinon mein ghulam Hindustan ki zameen par aankh kholi to un ke samne do tarah ki tareekiyan theen ek woh siyasi tareeki jo Angrez samraj ne musallat ki thi aur doosri woh fikri tareeki jo khud Musalmanon ke andar paida ho chuki thi. Unhon ne dono se jang lari. Ek hath mein ilm uthaya aur doosre mein Quran, ek zuban se siyasat ko lalkara aur doosri se qoum ke dilon mein iman ki hararat bhari. Un ki taqreeron mein lafz talwar banta tha aur un ka sukoot tasbeeh-e-fikar. Woh azadi ke aise tarjuman the jinhon ne qaid o band ki saobaton mein bhi qoum ke liye roshni ka sabaq likha. Azad un ka naam nahi tha balkay un ki taqdeer thi, un ka paigham tha, un ki poori zaat is lafz ki tafseer thi. Jin dinon siyasat ke aiwanon mein maslihaton ki riyakari aur mufad ki makkari aam thi Maulana Azad wahan sachai ke chiragh jalane wale aakhri mujahid bane. Unhon ne qoum ko bataya ke azadi sirf zameen ka nahi fikar ka, iman ka, shaoor ka naam hai. Un ki taleem-e-jadeed ke liye koshishein darasal ek aisi ilmi bedari ka aaghaz theen jis ne poore Hindustan mein ilmi idaron aur fikri tehreekon ko ek naya shaoor bakhsha. Wazeer-e-Taleem ki kursi un ke liye iqtedar ka nahi amanat ka mansab thi. Jis par baith kar unhon ne ilm ko ibadat aur taleem ko qoum ki rooh qarar diya. Un ke nazdeek kitab kirdar ka aaina thi. Woh jante the ke agar qoum ka nisaab bigar jaye to is ka mustaqbil bhi maskh ho jata hai. Isi liye unhon ne taleem ko azadi ki baqa se jor diya............

Aaj jab hum ilmi zawal, fikri inteshar aur tehzeebi buhran ke dahane par khare hain to Maulana Azad ki sadayein phir se goonjti mehsoos hoti hain.. Woh hamein yaad dilati hain ke qoumein apni zuban, apne ilm, apne iman aur apne shaoor se banti hain, aur jab yeh chaar sutoon kamzor ho jayen to azadi mehaz ek rasm reh jati hai....

 Agar qoum-e-Muslim ne apne andar phir se hurriyat-e-fikar aur ilm ki sachai paida kar li to samjho ke Azad ab bhi hamare darmiyan zinda hai kitab ke auraq mein nahi balkay un dilon mein jo apne iman ke sath jeena jante hain..........
