Ramadan is the month of blessings, abundance, and forgiveness. It is the holy month in which Allah Almighty bestows special grace and favor upon His servants, forgives sins, and grants countless rewards in return for good deeds. Every moment of this blessed month is precious and every hour is valuable, but its last ten days and nights are especially significant and virtuous. These are the blessed days in which a servant finds a golden opportunity to be close to his Lord and hopes to be freed from the sins of his life.

The last ten days of Ramadan can actually be called a message of worship, prayer, and repentance. These are the days when the heart of a believer turns completely towards his Lord, away from worldly affairs. During these days, a person intensely feels that the hours of Ramadan are passing quickly and perhaps this blessed month will be granted next year or not. This feeling motivates him to work harder in worship and to reform his deeds.

The last ten days also remind us of the fact that Allah Almighty always keeps the doors of repentance open for His servants. Man is a figure of mistakes and slips, there are countless shortcomings and weaknesses in his life, but Allah's mercy is far wider than his mistakes. When a servant repents to his Lord with a sincere heart, expresses remorse for his sins, and resolves to reform in the future, Allah Almighty not only forgives him but also gives him the good news of turning his sins into virtues.

The greatest feature of the last ten days of Ramadan is Laylat al-Qadr, which is considered better than a thousand months. It is the great night in which the reward for worship and prayer is immeasurable. That is why the Holy Prophet ﷺ used to take extraordinary care in worship during these ten days. He ﷺ used to stay awake at night, wake up his family members as well, and remain engaged in prayer and supplication with humility and submission in the court of Allah. This behavior teaches us that spending the last ten days in negligence is actually tantamount to deprivation of a great blessing.

This ten days invites us to pay special attention to worship. Through prayer, recitation of the Quran, remembrance and supplications, a servant strengthens his relationship with his Lord. When the heart is filled with the remembrance of Allah, it creates peace and tranquility in it. The worries and difficulties of the world seem light to him, because he is sure that his Lord is with him in every situation.

Similarly, prayer is an important aspect of these ten days. Prayer is actually a spiritual connection between the servant and the Lord. When a person asks his Lord with humility, he confesses his helplessness and neediness. The nights of the last ten days are very precious in this regard because the prayers offered in them are close to acceptance. These are the moments when a servant prays to Allah Almighty for forgiveness of his sins, reformation of his life, well-being of his family, and welfare of the entire Muslim Ummah.

The last ten days also draw our attention to self-accountability. This is the time for a person to review his life, examine his deeds, and see how strong he has made his relationship with his Lord. If there has been negligence and shortcomings in his life, then this is the moment when he should repent with a sincere heart and resolve to adopt the path of goodness and piety in the future.

An important Sunnah of these ten days is also Itikaf, which is actually the name of being completely engaged in the worship of Allah by separating oneself from worldly affairs. Itikaf gives purity and spirituality to the heart of a person and brings him closer to his Lord. This act teaches us that the real success of life is not in worldly wealth but in achieving the pleasure of Allah.

The last ten days of Ramadan is actually a great spiritual message. It introduces us to the pleasure of worship, the effect of prayer, and the greatness of repentance. It reminds us that the real success of life is in the pleasure of Allah and His nearness. If a person values these ten days, fills his heart with sincerity and piety, and repents sincerely in the court of Allah, then surely he becomes successful and triumphant.

May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to truly value the last ten days of Ramadan, create sincerity in worship, and adorn our lives through repentance and reform. Amen. 🤲
