As the last ten days of Ramadan arrive, a strange scene begins.

Mosques are somewhat empty... and markets are much more crowded!

Although these are the days in which a great night like Laylat al-Qadr is hidden, many of us spend this time in clothes, shoes, and sale lists.

Think from the heart, is shopping really more important at this time?

Preparing for Eid is not a bad thing, but the problem arises when:

The lights of the market start to look better than the light of the mosque

The shopping list becomes longer than the prayer list*

And Tarawih or worship is missed due to fatigue

Strike a little balance:

If needed, do brief shopping during the day

Keep the night for worship, prayer, and the Quran

We look at many shops for Eid clothes...

If only we could do a few more prostrations for the clothes of Paradise.

May Allah grant us the ability to appreciate the last ten days and accept our worship. Amen.
