The heart is not only physically important, but also spiritually, it is the central place from which faith, consciousness and humanity spring, and its purity is the guarantor of true success in both worlds.
In the human body, the heart is like a king. If the physical heart stops beating, the lamp of life goes out, but if the spiritual heart dies, a person loses his reality while alive. In the light of the Quran and Hadith, the heart is not just a blood-pumping machine, but it is the 'mirror' in which the reflection of our intentions is visible.
Physical Life and Spiritual Survival
Medical science says that the health of the heart depends on a balanced diet and exercise. But the Creator of the Universe commands that the health of the soul depends on "Remembrance of Allah" and "Purity of Dealings". Just as fat accumulates in the arteries and causes a heart attack, similarly, if malice, hatred and arrogance accumulate in the heart, spiritual death occurs.

The Insight of the Holy Prophet ﷺ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ described this reality in a comprehensive hadith:
"Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body, if it is right, the whole body remains right, and if it is spoiled, the whole body is spoiled. Listen! It is the 'heart'." (Sahih Bukhari)
This hadith makes it clear that our morals, our tone (as we have seen in the case of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) and our actions are all subject to this one center.

Types of Hearts in the Mirror of the Quran
The Holy Quran tells us that on the Day of Judgment neither wealth nor children will be of any use, except for those who bring a "Qalb-e-Saleem" (a heart of peace). In the sight of Allah, that heart is precious which:
Trembles with the fear of God (Qalb-e-Wajal)
Turns to Allah (Qalb-e-Munib)
Finds peace through remembrance (Qalb-e-Mutmain)
On the contrary, the heart that is busy with ego, suspicion and hurting others is called "Qalb-e-Mareez", which outwardly beats but is unable to feel the truth.

In today's era, where we spend hours beautifying our faces and grooming our bodies, there is a need to take a few moments to look "inside" ourselves. If our heart is clean, then the words that come out of our mouth will not wound anyone's soul, but will become a balm.
