Allah, the Lord of Honor, created us humans with His perfect power and sent us into this world with a fixed deadline. This world is not a place for sightseeing, not a place for entertainment, not a place for rest, and not a permanent abode, but rather a pure testing ground. Alas, we have made it a pasture instead of a testing ground.
We have been created for testing. "Al-dunya daru al-mihan" meaning this world is the home of trials. Every human being is being tested in some form or another. The circumstances are different for everyone; Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, tests some by giving and tests others by taking away. Someone is buying a shroud for his son, and someone is buying clothes for his son's wedding. A young man is bringing his bride home, and another is carrying the funeral of his life partner on his shoulders. Someone got immense profit in business, and someone had to suffer severe losses. Someone is blessed with the blessing of health, and someone is afflicted with the trial of illness.
This world is indeed a testing ground; here, circumstances change, and days are in rotation. When Allah Almighty gives, He sees whether the servant gives thanks or not, and when He takes back, He sees whether the servant is patient or not. The one who gives thanks is also successful, and the one who is patient is also triumphant, because there is glad tidings of Paradise for both.
So, for a believer, there is good in every situation. This is the basic lesson that we need to understand and remember.
