Where do we stand?
This question is not of an individual today,it is a question of the entire Ummah (community).
Where do we stand?
Ahead in the name of progress, or behind in terms of values?
In the city of lights, or in the darkness of consciences?
We have achieved a lot—
voice, platform, authority, speed.
But the real question is:
What have we lost?
We sacrificed truth for convenience,
principle for self-interest,
and handed silence over to noise.
The reality is that today, truth is not weak because it lacks weight,
but because it is not popular.
And falsehood is not powerful because it is true,
but because it has been presented beautifully.
Where do we stand?
We stand where there is no shame for mistakes,
but justifications are offered.
Where questions are not asked to think,
but to silence the person in front.
If we were in the right direction,
our tongues would be soft,
there would be politeness even in disagreement,
and worship would make us better human beings—
not just better looking.
The argument before us is that
when actions are many but the impact is less,
when there is worship but no justice,
when there is knowledge but no action—
then understand,
we are not on the path, but standing on the edge.
We are living in an era where the Quran commands us to stand firm on justice,
and we stick to expediency.
Where we are reminded that
Allah looks at the hearts, not the deeds—
but instead of improving our hearts,
we are busy beautifying our faces.
The Prophet (PBUH) warned us that
a time will come when words will be many,
but the impact will be less;
piety will be in appearance,
but trust and truth will weaken.
And alas!
That time stands before us today.
This is the toughest point:
We have considered worship sufficient,
but have forgotten its impact.
If prayer does not stop us from lying,
if fasting does not save us from dishonesty,
if knowledge does not give us humility—
then the question remains the same:
Where do we stand?
The Quran repeatedly teaches us this principle that
truth does not cease to be truth because it is less,
and falsehood does not become truth because it is more.
But we have made quantity the standard of truth—
and this is our biggest intellectual defeat.
Today we have no shortage of speeches,
but a shortage of character.
There are many slogans,
but the intention is weak.
We want to change the system,
but not ourselves.
Remember!
When nations stop looking into their own collars,
history shakes them up to remind them.
There is still time.
There is still an opportunity.
We have to decide:
Either we become part of the crowd,
or bear the burden of truth.
Either we get lost in the noise,
or stand with the truth.
Because tomorrow when the question will be:
Where did you stand?
It will not be asked how famous you were,
but it will be asked:
Were you with the truth or not?
And this is the question that is asking all of us today:
Where do we stand?
Now this question is not of a speaker anymore,
this question is of every person who is reading these lines:
Where do we stand?
Just answer it
