In the previous article, references to the blessed Hadith and references to the blessed verses of the Holy Quran were mentioned.
Now we will talk about Jihad as Fard Ain (an individual obligation) and Fard Kifaya (a collective obligation);
According to the majority of the scholars of the Ummah, Jihad is initially Fard Kifaya. And in some cases, it becomes Fard Ain. Whereas, Sayyiduna Abu Talha Ansari, Sayyiduna Abu Ayub Ansari, Sayyiduna Miqdad Ibn Aswad (may Allah be pleased with them all))
And among the Tabi'een, Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib and other personalities believe that Jihad is currently Fard Ain.
The basis of these personalities is those verses and texts in which "severe punishment" and "death upon hypocrisy" are threatened for "abandoning Jihad." Based on these texts, these personalities say that since it is obligatory for every Muslim to avoid severe punishment and death in hypocrisy and to save their faith,
And the fulfillment of this obligation can only be achieved through Jihad, so Jihad is absolutely Fard Ain.

Jihad is initially Fard Kifaya, if the disbelievers do not impose war on us.
(
Tanweer al-Absar Sharh Radd al-Mukhtar)
If the disbelievers are in their area and do not come out with the intention of attacking the Muslims, then Jihad is Fard Kifaya.
(
Al-Nawawi)
The meaning of Fard Kifaya is that if enough people come forward for Jihad who are sufficient for Jihad, then the obligation of Jihad is removed from the rest of the people.
If all the people abandon it and there is no legitimate excuse, then all Muslims will be sinners.
The meaning of Fard Ain.
