O youth! Choose yourself, not cigarettes
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Article (73)
     O my dear youth!
You are the strength on which the hopes of the Ummah are based, you are the lamps from which future generations take light, your thinking, your character, your habits not only define you but also determine the direction of the entire society. But alas! Today, many of you are setting fire to your chests with your own hands, which is not only burning the body but also weakening your intentions. And that is smoking.
The question is not why you smoke, the question is why are you letting yourself burn?
O youth! What does the Quran say to you?
Allah Almighty says:
"Wa la taqtulu anfusakum innallaha kana bikum raheema."
(And do not kill yourselves. Indeed, Allah is ever Merciful to you. An-Nisa: 29)
Think! Isn't smoking slowly killing yourself?
Isn't it deliberately poisoning your body?
Then He said: "Wa la tulqu bi'aideekum ilat-tahlukah."
(And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction. Al-Baqarah: 195)
O youth!
When you light a cigarette, you are actually pushing yourself towards destruction with your own hands.
What advice does the Prophet ﷺ give you?
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: - La dharara wa la dhirar. - Neither harm yourself nor harm others (Sunan Ibn Majah 2341)
Cigarette: - Harms you
Causes grief to your parents
Poisons your children
Pollutes the breaths of those around you
Isn't this hadith enough to shake you up?
O youth! This is not fashion, it is deception
You think:
It's style
It's a way to look smart
It reduces tension
But the truth is: it is neither style, nor smartness, nor peace
It is only slavery. Nicotine slavery
The thing that draws you to itself again and again,
That does not leave you,
It is not a hobby - it is a chain
Waste of wealth: Friendship with Satan
Allah Almighty says:
"Innal mubadhdhirina kanu ikhwanash-shayatin."
(Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils. Al-Isra: 27)
O youth! Think:
How much money do you waste in smoke every month?
That money could have become a book
Could have become service to parents
Could have become support for a poor person
But you are turning it into ashes.
Health: A trust, not your property
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: - Ni'matan maghboonun fihima kathirun minan-nas: as-sihhatu wal-faragh.
There are two blessings in which many people are at a loss: health and free time. (Tirmidhi 2304)
O youth!
Health is not your property,
It is a trust from Allah.
And whoever betrays the trust,
Will be accountable on the Day of Judgment.
The real problem: It's not the cigarette, it's your thinking
The truth is: you certainly don't want cigarettes,
You want peace.
You don't want smoke,
You want importance.
You don't want addiction,
You want recognition.
But cigarettes cannot give you all this,
Relationship with Allah can give you all this.
Therefore: - Today, now, at this very moment, repent from this incurable addiction
O dear youth!
Don't say: "I will quit tomorrow"
Don't say: "I will quit gradually"
The most dangerous weapon of Satan:
The word - tomorrow.
Make a promise today:
. O Allah! I will not burn my body
I will not make my parents cry
I will not waste my life in smoke"
Who are you? Recognize yourself.
You are those:
Whose foreheads are made for prostration
Whose hands are made to hold the Quran
Whose breath is made for remembrance
O brave youth of the Ummah of Islam!
Your youth is not for smoke, it is for the exaltation of religion.
You are the pride of the Ummah, the crown on our heads,
In your breaths, there should be remembrance, not poison.
You are the generation that is to make history,
Revolution, not ashes, is your identity.
Faith runs in your veins,
Certainty, not nicotine (intoxicants), is your asset.
Your forehead is made for prostrations,
Not for taking cigarette puffs.
Your voice should be an announcement of truth,
Not the sigh of a cough.
You are soldiers of your Lord,
Not slaves of any addiction.
Your youth is a trust of the Ummah,
Don't let it fly away in smoke.
If you improve, generations will improve,
If you burn, history will cry.
If you quit smoking today,
Then you have not only quit a habit,
You have:
Saved your life
Earned the prayers of your parents
Pleased your Lord
Regained your true identity
Remember: The youth who controls himself,
Can control the whole world.
Let us make this promise today:
"We will not smoke cigarettes,
We will not burn ourselves,
We will live our lives with honor, health and faith.
May Allah grant us true repentance, strong determination and a pure life.
Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
