A Divorced Woman's Voice: Take my Mahr, Return my Youth

She came with thousands of dreams in her veil, stars in her eyes, and the carefree spirit that only daughters possess. She left her home, abandoned her identity, and entrusted herself to a man who treated her as a *game* instead of a sacred *trust*. She spent years serving him, sacrificing her happiness for his fatigue, melting her bones to make his house a home. And when time etched lines of weariness on her face and turned her hair silver, that man callously said, "Go, I set you free."
The woman who can no longer recognize herself in the mirror, the one who gave her youth as charity at that man's doorstep, is asking a question today that no law in the universe can answer: *The few coins of Mahr you gave are in my hand, but where is the youth that was spent raising your children? Where is the smile that was sacrificed to your bitterness? If you want to settle the account, then return with the Mahr the youth that will never return.* Islam called women "Qawarir" (fragile glass), and ordered them to be handled with care. But when a man, in the arrogance of his power, violates the limits of Sharia, breaks the heart of an innocent woman, and leaves her helpless, the Throne of Allah trembles.
*The Sigh of the Oppressed and the Justice of Allah*
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah." (Bukhari) When a divorced woman, in the solitude of the night, accounts for her wasted years before Allah, the grip on that cruel man begins. Perhaps he will remarry in this world, perhaps he will appear happy, but the stick of Allah is silent.
It is stated in the Holy Quran that women should be kept in a good manner or released with kindness. Men who break the Sharia limits and abruptly end a lifetime of companionship for the sake of their ego or over a trivial matter will stand before Allah on the Day of Judgment as "Ghadir" (deceivers). History is witness that the person who destroys the home of someone's daughter or sister has the peace of his own home taken away. His end is loneliness, humiliation, and such barrenness that he longs for peace even with everything.
Divorce is not just the breaking of a marriage; it is the breaking of a person's honor. Mahr is just a sum of money, but only Allah can repay that woman for the time, feelings, and youth that she dedicated to a cruel man. That person can never be successful who builds the foundation of his happiness on someone else's tears.
