Social Media: A means of personality development or a waste of time?"

"This is the modern era, even relationships are online"

"There is malice in hearts, but smiles on faces"

"I have picked up the pen so that I can teach the value of time"

"So that I can free the young generation from the prison of mobile phones"

Today we are living in an era where the world has shrunk into our fist. The internet and social media have erased distances, but unfortunately, they have created distances in hearts. As a student, when I look around me, I see the young generation caught in a strange dilemma.

Two Sides of Social Media:

Social media is like a double-edged sword. If it is used to acquire knowledge, invite to religion, and for positive contacts, then it is a blessing. But if it becomes just a means of aimless videos (Reels), futile debates, and peeking into the lives of others, then it is a silent poison that is devouring our abilities.

The Value of Time:

We waste hours on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, but we don't have time to read a book or sit with our family. Remember! Time is a capital that once it slips out of hand, never comes back. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There are two blessings in which most people lose out: health and leisure (free time)."

Need for Reform:

We should "use" social media, not become its "slave". We should:

Set a time for using our mobile phone.

Follow things that increase our knowledge and morals.

Do not share any news without verification, as it causes lies and strife.

Conclusion:

Let us pledge that we will make social media a means of our success, not our destruction. We will use our pen and our voice to spread the truth. The power of the pen is very great, do not let it go to waste.
