Alhamdulillah! Yesterday, I had the honor of listening to the speech of Mufti Salman Azhari (may Allah preserve him). In his speech, he mentioned two things that made my heart tremble, and for a while, it felt like my mind had stopped working. And that state is still lingering.

The first thing he mentioned was, "Two brothers committed zina (adultery/fornication) with their sister." Allahu Akbar Kabira! Hearing this made my soul tremble. Such a thing happening in an Islamic society is a very big deal. How did things reach this point?

This involves the negligence of parents. Parents have become so oblivious that they have no idea what is going on in their homes. They have forgotten everything in the pursuit of worldly gains! They have no concern for their own afterlife, nor for their children's!

The second thing he mentioned was that a child studying in the fourth grade was brought to his grandfather, a Mufti, and he said that this child uses drugs. The Mufti said: How can such a young child use drugs, and what kind of drugs does he use? The grandfather said, ask the child himself. He asked the child: Son! What kind of drugs do you use? The child said that he uses charas (hashish) and ganja (marijuana). The Mufti asked the next question: Where do you get these things from? The child replied: Everything is available at school. And if it is not available at school on any day, it is available outside the school.

The only purpose of telling these two things is that, for God's sake...! If we and you do not pay attention to the upbringing of our children today, then God forbid, these same things can happen in our homes tomorrow. And on the Day of Judgment, it will be very difficult to give an account of all this. Parents will also be questioned about the waywardness of their children and their involvement in sins. As it is in the Hadith Sharif:

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock. The ruler who has authority over people is a shepherd and is responsible for them; a man is a shepherd in his family and is responsible for them; a woman is a shepherd in her husband's house and is responsible for them; and a servant is a shepherd of his master's property and is responsible for it. So each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock."

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 2554)

Translation: Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"Each of you is a guardian and each of you will be asked about those under your care. The ruler is a guardian and will be asked about his subjects; a man is the guardian of his family and will be asked about them; a woman is the guardian of her husband's house and children and will be asked about them; and a slave is the guardian of his master's wealth and will be asked about it. Thus, each of you is a guardian and each of you will be asked about those under your care."

For the sake of Allah! Adopt measures to protect the faith and beliefs and lives of your children. And the easiest way to do this is to "acquire religious knowledge yourselves and adorn your children with religious knowledge as well!" Bring them so close to Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that even if their world is destroyed, it does not matter; but they should not tolerate the destruction of the Hereafter at all!

May Allah the Almighty grant us the ability to act. Ameen, O Lord of the Worlds!
