Maulana Abdullah Salim Qamar Chitrawedi's Arrest: Justice or Another Injustice?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Article (92)
In today's era, when claims of justice, equality, and the rule of law are made with great fervor, incidents come to light that question the reality of these claims, forcing us to think whether justice is truly equal for all or not. The arrest of Maulana Abdullah Salim Qamar Chitrawedi is not just an incident, but a tough test for our collective conscience. A personality, regarding whose attributed statement a clarification has also been issued, a defense has also been presented—despite that, a sudden arrest in plain clothes…! Is this justice or the satisfaction of some ego? Is the determination of a crime really based on evidence or on identity? Are the eyes of the police really closed, or do they only see specific faces?
This question is not just about one individual, but about an entire system. Where are those people who openly spew hatred day in and day out? Who openly violate the law, considering hooliganism their right? Have their doors ever been knocked on suddenly like this? Have they also been caught in the clutches of the law with such lightning speed?
Or does the police's speed only awaken where resistance is weak? What kind of standard is this that, on one hand, clarification is ignored, and on the other hand, open thuggery is not even seen? If this continues, justice will become not a word but a joke.
It should be remembered—this country does not belong to one person, it belongs to all of us. The blood of every class is mixed in its soil, the breath of every nation is in its atmosphere. Muslims have also watered this homeland with their blood, strengthened its foundations, and enhanced its beauty. This homeland belongs to all of us…and we were here, we are here, and we will remain here. And we will never let the voice of justice be suppressed.
The need of the hour is to make justice not just a slogan but a practical reality. As long as the scales of justice are not equal for all, such questions will continue to arise. The need of the hour is to give space to truth and keep justice truly alive.
