Qareen Hazraat
This is a very brief, powerful, and deeply meaningful prayer attributed to Hazrat Nuh (peace be upon him).
رَبِّ اِنِّىْ مَغْلُوْبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ
Urdu Translation: "O my Lord! I am overcome, so help me (or take revenge)."
This prayer presents a point where a person, after all their efforts, relies only on the power and help of Allah.
I am overcome
This is not just a sentence; it is an admission of extreme fatigue. It is the moment when a person drops their arms from their hands. "O Allah! I tried my best to save my job, I took every measure to prevent my relationship from breaking down, I fought against the disease in every possible way... but the result was zero. I no longer have the courage to fight. My mental, emotional, and material reserves are empty.
Like Nuh (peace be upon him), we also rely on our resources and strategies. When all our created plans A, B, and C fail, we accept the truth that our powers are very limited. This is not considering oneself inferior, but considering Allah the greatest. This is the first step to psychological peace: removing the burden of responsibility from our weak shoulders and entrusting it to the owner of the universe.
The word "Rab" is free from all formal calls. It is the call that a child gives to its mother while crying. It is not a letter to the head of an institution; it is calling out from the depths of the heart to one's closest, most powerful support. "You are my creator, you are aware of my weakness, you know how difficult this struggle was, and you know that my intentions were good.
This prayer is more of a last hope call than a formal prayer of Nuh (peace be upon him). This is for the person who:
Is tired of patience.
Is feeling lonely and helpless.
Now wants to put their destiny only in the hands of Allah.
This prayer teaches us that giving up is not a weakness, but recognizing that there is always someone who is ready to fight for us, is the greatest strength.
