She says:
"I am fine"
But who understands how much fatigue is hidden inside this "fine"? How many silent prayers, how many suppressed sighs, and how many unspoken desires?
The last part of the night…
The whole house is silent with sleep, but she is awake. Eyes heavy, body tired, but responsibility wakes her up. In the dim light of the kitchen, she prepares Sehri. Rotis are made, curry is heated, steam rises from the tea. She wakes everyone up, calls out with love. Everyone eats, becomes satisfied. And she?
She finishes the leftovers and makes the intention for her fast.
After offering Fajr prayers, she recites and remembers Allah until Ishraq time, then after offering Ishraq, even if she falls asleep, it is not for long. Children's voices, school preparation, husband's office, uniforms, shoes, bags, breakfast...etc.
She doesn't live for herself even for a moment.
All day long she takes care of the house, cleaning, dishes, clothes, arranging... Her hard work speaks in everything. Then evening fades and preparations for Iftar begin. Fruit, pakoras, sherbet, chaat... Taking care of everyone's taste, respecting everyone's preferences. The call to prayer is heard, everyone sits at the table. She looks around to make sure no one is missing anything.
And if something is ever missing?
"There was too much salt."
"The pakoras weren't crispy."
"Why wasn't that thing made today?"
She remains silent. Because she is used to it.
Perhaps because her love doesn't make noise.
Has anyone ever thought that she also has dreams? She also wishes that someone would ask her:
"Aren't you tired?"
"Sit down today, we'll do it."
Islam gave women respect, a position.
Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ said that the best among you is the one who is best to his family.
But how many of us act on this teaching?
Whether she is a mother, wife, or sister... she is not a machine, she is a human being. She needs respect, not orders. She needs appreciation, not criticism. She needs support, not burden.
If you don't believe it, then take her place for one day. Then you will know how easy or how difficult it is to manage a house.
Today, if your mother, wife, or sister looks tired
Then just do this.
Hold her hand.
Put your hand on her forehead and say:
"Our home is a home because of you."
Because a woman is not just a responsibility,
She is a heart.
And when the heart breaks
Then the house remains only a building.
Come! Let's pledge from today....
We will value our women.
We will say a few words of love for them.
Because they also have hearts.
And they also deserve respect and peace.
