Keep the fast of the heart along with the fast of the stomach.

Ramadan does not only teach us to stay hungry and thirsty,
but it also gives us the message of reforming our inner selves.
The fast of the stomach prevents us from outward sins, and the fast of the heart protects us from inward evils.
Keep the heart pure from extraneous thoughts.
Keep the heart clean from the blind love of the world.
Keep the heart safe from the malice, envy, and spite of any Muslim.
Keep the heart empty of corrupt imaginations.
Keep the heart longing to meet and see its true beloved.
Just as we abstain from eating and drinking, we should also abstain from backbiting, lying, suspicion, and hatred.
Just as we take care of Sehri and Iftar, we should also take care of cleansing the heart, forgiveness, and repentance.
Often, we take great care of the fast of the stomach, but forget the fast of the heart.
We keep our tongue under control, but harbor complaints, envy, and resentments in our hearts.
We remain busy in outward worship, but forget to cleanse the soil of the heart.
Remember!
If the stomach is hungry and the heart is full of sins, then the spirit of the fast remains incomplete.
The real success is that our heart is soft, our gaze is pure, our intention is sincere, and there is only love of Allah in our heart.
Just as the fast of the stomach is obligatory, so is the fast of the heart necessary.
The only difference is that the fast of the stomach is visible to people, and the fast of the heart is known only to Allah.
Let us pledge this Ramadan that
we will make our heart as fasting as our stomach,
we will purify our inner self as we keep our outer self,
so that our fast does not remain just a ritual but becomes a means of true closeness to Allah. 🌙
